I've been dog-sitting during my weekend, so it was a good time to restart my reading challenge.

Toshi-dog is ridiculous - she barks at everything, takes puppy Prozac, was a COVID puppy, and can't be left alone for more than 3 hours. She likes routine, but due to some human health issues a few months ago, some of her routines have gotten screwy. Things are exacerbated by this being the first overnight without her humans since...the last time I overnight sat for her back in October 2024.

She's a sweetie, but I'm happy to go home to my cat now.

Although I've been meaning to read this book since it came out (and hate that it's so relevant AGAIN), the subject matter makes it difficult to sit and read for very long. It's worked well as a book to read on my morning commute to work.

Current reading:
"Marsha: the Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson", by Tourmeline

This book is overdue from the library, so I'm trying to prioritize reading it. My brain has categorized it as "homework" because there's so much history and learning wrapped up in reading it. The issue with that is how it no longer feels likes leisure reading. Oops. 🤦‍♀️

Reading about the STAR manifesto in this chapter, it's very obvious how trans people, especially trans women, were thrown under the bus by the rest of the Gay Rights movement, since the things Marsha was advocating for 50 years ago still haven't really come to fruition.
