Current reading: "The Great Extravaganza: Portland and the Lewis and Clark Exposition", by Carl Abbott

The rest of this book was slightly less dry than the first half, since it talked more about the contents of the Exposition. Again, the photos were the highlight of the book. After finishing the book, I'm once again left with the thought that I really wish there was a 3D/virtual version of the Exposition that one could explore virtually, even just by clicking around with a mouse. I would also love, in general, to find examples of historical photos overlaying their current-day counterparts.

Current reading:
"Marsha: the Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson", by Tourmeline
Minutes read: 24

I'm still in the early part of this book, but I'm almost enjoying the general history aspect of it more than Marsha's specific story, at least so far? For example, the history lesson about how Times Square has always been the place for queer cruising was really interesting, as well as the author's mention of Mary Jones, a Black trans woman from the 1800s, who worked in the area.
